1947

On 18th November 1947 the company Soške elektrarne Nova Gorica d.o.o. was founded. The company took over from the Italian companies two big and eight small hydro power plants. The main task of the new company was to link the power plants in the Primorska region together.


1949

>>

Between Doblar and Kleče a 110 kV – transmission line on wooden transmission poles was built by the company Soške elektrarne.


1950

>>

The company Soške elektrarne passed as a company of the greatest statal significance from the federal ownership into the ownership of the Republic. For 25 years the general manager of the company was Lado Kerševan.


1965

>>

The company Soške elektrarne expanded its activity for the first time and became a company which is not only engaged in the production but also in the transmission and the sale of electrical energy. The company performed the activity of the electrical energy transmission up to the year 1990. Because of the new electric energy transmission activity the majority of the investments in the 60ies and 70ies was oriented towards the construction of transmission facilities.


1967

A new transformer station in Gorica was built and which, by the end of the construction works, became the electricity supply centre for the northern part of the Primorska region.


1970

>>

An own area management centre in Nova Gorica started operating.


1971

>>

This year the construction of the Ajba hydro power plant started with the first built-in tubular aggregate. This project was the result of the joint co-operation and the know-how of the companies Litostroj and Rade Končar.


1973

>>

In the town of Divača a distribution station with a 220 kV branch was being built which connected Slovenia, Italy and Croatia. It was an important part of the so-called SÜDEL node over which the then Yugoslav 220 KV network was connected to the West European energetic network.


1974

The company Soške elektrarne has endorsed the self-managing consolidation agreement. In February the next year the company was registered in the register of companies as an organization consisting of five Basic organizations of associated labour (TOZD).


1976

This year the Koper transformer distribution station was amplified. The same year also the top management of the company, the general manager of many year’s standing Lado Kerševan, was replaced and Valentin Golob took over the management of the company.


1977

>>

This year the construction of a 400 kV grid started. This was a huge step in the history of the company Soške elektrarne, as a high transmission power connection of Yugoslavia with West Europe was enabled by the 400 kV grid. The transmission capability of the 220 kV SÜDEL node was due to the large increase of the electrical energy demand already on the verge of its capability.


1977

The construction of the Solkan power plant as the last plant in the chain of power plants in the lower part of the Soča River started. Its construction was made possible by the endorsement of the Treaty of Osimo in which the interstatal border line between Italy and Yugoslavia was determined. The Solkan power plant represented the first step in the realization of the idea of a chain of ten power plants on Soča River which came up in the period between the two world wars.


1979

The first small hydro power plant Knežke Ravne 1 started operating. Due to the energy crisis in the 70ies the significance of the small hydro power plants was huge. The Knežke ravne power plant was the first of twelve hydro power plants built by the company Soške elektrarne in the years between 1977 and 2005.


1984

On the Zapoška stream the Cerkno power plant was built.


1984

>>

The second largest hydro power plant of the company Soške elektrarne started operating in Solkan. This was the first remote controlled power plant in Yugoslavia and entirely the result of the know-how of native experts. The power plant was integrated into the grid over the 110 kV power line Solkan – Nova Gorica.


1985

On the Idrijca River the construction of the Trebuša power plant was terminated.


1987

>>

The Jelenk power plant, the smallest among the small hydro power plants of the company Soške elektrarne, started operating.


1989

>>

The construction of the Mrzla Rupa power plant on the Idrijca River was concluded. At the same time the company Soške elektrarne co-operated also at the refurbishment of the remarkable Idrijske Klavže barrages.


1989

This year the Zadlaščica hydro power plant started operating. It had, however, a double purpose, i.e. it was thus intended for the production of electrical energy as well as for the drinking water supply in the broader Tolmin territory. Still today it is one of the biggest production facilities of the company Soške elektrarne and according to the quantity of the produced electric energy it is on the sixth place.


1989

On the Unec River the Planina power plant was built.
